The Fresh Pond Reservation – 162 acres surrounding and protecting Fresh Pond Reservoir – is the largest open space in densely populated Cambridge.

On the morning of Saturday, June 4, twenty-three CP&GC members and friends mobilized to plant the young sunflowers.

The students at Prospect Hill Academy partnered with CP&GC during the COVID lockdowns. The club looked for novel ways to engage with the community and, specifically, with local students remotely, to inspire in students a closer connection with nature, public spaces, and knowledge of the plant world.

CP&GC began advocating for Longfellow Park in 2015 as we had concern about existing trees, planting around the poet’s monument, crumbling stone steps, non-working light posts, and lack of benches.
