A Visit to Joe Pye Weed Gardens

Members ventured out to Carlisle, MA to visit the beautiful Joe Pye Weed garden, a mail order plant nursery specializing in Siberian Irises, Species Irises, and Interspecies hybrids.

Owners Jan and Marty showed us how to cross Siberian irises to make hybrids, told us about the decades of experimental crosses they've been doing to generate new and unusual color patterns, and gave us a tour of their gorgeous gardens and hybridization plots.
